Let’s Get Real 9 Report: Building a thriving hybrid working environment

Published in May 2023

The Phase 9 project ran from June 2022 to February 2023 and involved nine UK arts and heritage organisations working in partnership with Culture24 and the Birmingham Museums Trust to begin a journey of interrogating, understanding and developing their hybrid working practices.

Let’s Get Real: 10 Years on short report

Published in May 2022

Let’s Get Real: 10 Years on revisited the theme of our first Let’s Get Real back in 2010, ‘How to evaluate online success’. In the decade since, the report from our first action research programme has been downloaded nearly 24,000 times, showing that this is still a big question that the sector is struggling to answer. The project ran from February to September 2021, in the shadow of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Let’s Get Real 7 Report – Developing deeper human connection across digital channels

Published in February 2020

The Phase 7 project ran from March 2019 to November 2019 and involved 19 arts and heritage organisations working in partnership with Culture24, Carnegie UK TrustCommon Cause Foundation and the Wellcome Collection to understand how we, as cultural organisations, can generate stronger personal connections and create more meaningful relationships through our digital work.

Let’s Get Real 6 Report – Connecting digital practice with social purpose

Published in December 2018

The Phase 6 project ran from January 2018 to October 2018 and involved 18 arts and heritage organisations working in partnership with Culture24, the Happy Museum Project64 Million Artists and Battersea Arts Centre to better understand the social purpose of digital technology for arts and heritage organisations.

Let’s Get Real 4 Report – What’s the story?

Published in May 2016

The Phase 4 project, ran from April 2015 to December 2015 and involved 30 art and heritage organisations including 4 from North America. The project explored ways participants could use a range of digital storytelling strategies and formats to engage audiences.

In Phase 3 Culture24 brought together 29 partner cultural organisations who worked together over a period of ten months from April 2014 to November 2014 to explore ways to shape their digital content to become more relevant to audiences.

Let’s Get Real 2 Report – A journey to understanding and measuring digital engagement

Phase 2 of the Let’s Get Real action research project, led by Culture24 and involving 22 participating arts and heritage organisations collaborating over an eleven month period, explored what digital engagement could mean for them and how to understand audience needs online.

Let’s Get Real 1 Report – How to Evaluate Online Success

Published in September 2011

This is the report from Culture24’s first Let’s Get Real collaborative action research project which took place from June 2010 to September 2011, and was a collaboration with 17 arts and heritage organisations.

Developing effective ways to define, measure and evaluate the success of online activities is an issue faced by all parts of the cultural sector. Organisations regularly invest in cultural websites, social media activities and online services without a clear idea of what these services are trying to achieve, or their intended audience. This project sought to explore these challenges further and suggest ways forward.
