After 22 years as an independent charity, we are excited to announce our merger with our long term collaborators and friends – The Audience Agency.
As two established and trusted independent charities we share a similar mission and values so it’s a natural fit for us both. By combining our complementary experience and expertise, built over many years of supporting and leading positive change, we can together offer a vital new resource for the cultural sector.
The merger takes place in the context of changes for both organisations following the decision by Arts Council England to drop us from their portfolio in March 2023, a decision that sadly put some services and jobs at risk. Although both our organisations have had to make redundancies, the new business model and merger mean that years of public investment in tools and resources, skills and experience will continue to benefit the sector.
All of Culture24’s ongoing clients are moving with us into The Audience Agency, as are the three remaining team members Jane Finnis, Anra Kennedy and Alec Ward.
One of the first opportunities to come from the merger is the next Let’s Get Real initiative which is now open for sign-up. This will be the twelfth year that we have run our groundbreaking collaborative action research and learning programme and it’s great to be able to lean into the skills of the team at TAA. Our focus for 2024 will be on the ways that using digital can add value for audiences, communities and organisations. The programme will be hybrid, taking place remotely and in-person with our programme partner, the brilliant new Institute for Digital Culture at The University of Leicester. We would like to thank our wonderful board of trustees and all our past and current partners, clients, employees, volunteers and freelancers, for all their trust, love and support over what has been a very difficult year. We are pleased to be able to say that we are still here and ready to continue to work hard to help the cultural sector survive and thrive in the internet era.
