Through the eyes of a child exhibition

  • 29 June — 18 August 2019 *on now

For most of us, childhood is more than just the age between birth and adulthood. It is seen as a time of innocence and safety, with time to explore and develop. Although remembered fondly, with nostalgia and laughter, it can also be a frightening time, affected by events far beyond a child's control. From work and play to school and times of need, this exhibition explores the lives of children past and present and there are games to play, interactive activities and toys to explore, all through the eyes of a child.

‘Wild About Staffordshire – Celebrating 50 Years of Staffordshire Wildlife Trust’ Open Art exhibition will run from 28th October to 17th December 2019 and aims to celebrate the landscapes, flora and fauna of Staffordshire.

The Trust is encouraging people to enter a piece of visual art for the exhibition – including paintings, drawings, photography, textiles and 3D works. Entries will be accepted on specific dates in October.

Alison Holmes, Commercial Manager at Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, said: “Artists are encouraged to visit some of the Trusts 27 nature reserves, be inspired and capture what is beautiful about these special places in their finished pieces.

“The exhibition is free to enter and we’re hopeful of receiving a good range of artwork which we can show proudly at the art exhibition later this year.

“The aim of the Wild About Staffordshire exhibition is to celebrate 50 years of our charity. We’ve got so much planned to mark this special year and are really looking forward to the art exhibition.”
