Maidstone Museum is an award-winning museum, housed in a beautiful Elizabethan manor house, and is one of the best in the South-East. Highlights include a 2,700 year old mummy; Maidstone's local history; a fascinating journey through time to when dinosaurs walked the earth; one of the finest collections of Japanese art in the country; magnificent 'Old Master' oil paintings; and the splendour of the Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regimental Museum.

Maidstone Young Artist Award Exhibition

An exhibition of 80+ works shortlisted for the Maistone Young Artist Award.

This exciting new bi-annual award is open to young artists in Maidstone, Kent and the South East. With two age categories of 16 – 21 and 22 – 30 years old, it gives young artists within education, or just establishing themselves, the chance to win the prestigious Maidstone Young Artist Award as well as a platform to exhibit and sell their artworks within the museums’ temporary exhibition galleries.

The Visitors Vote

Visitors to the exhibition are given the chance to vote for their favourite artwork. The piece with the most votes wins ‘The Visitor Vote’. The artist’s prize will be to have an exhibition of their own artwork in the Cafe Gallery during 2019.
