Culture24 Listings Pick: Hairy times at Leeds Thackray Museum for this year's Teddy Bear Festival

After enticing more than 800 teddy bears and their owners to their Yorkshire medical history museum last year, organisers at the Thackray are putting on their Teddy Bear Festival for a second year, complete with a real-life Paddington Bear, costumed adventures in an enchanted forest, trails, competitions, face paintings, stories and bear making.

They've dropped admission prices for anyone under 16 who brings their own bear, and all the proceeds go to Action Medical Research, a charity whose sterling achievements during the past 50 years include a major contribution to the UK polio vaccine and important breakthroughs in ultrasound scanning and hip replacement surgery.

Runs 10am – 4pm Thursday and Friday (August 12 and 13 2010). Admission £6.50/£5.50 (free for under-16s with teddy bear). Visit the museum online or call 0113 244 3434 for more details.
