Mythstories is an actual and virtual museum of myths, fables and legends. Its focus is on storytelling and the oral tradition, every visitor gets to hear at least one verbal story.

Group visits are tailored to their requirements - educational visits are always welcome, we cater from pre-school through to U3A.

Given notice we can cater for most non-English speaking groups.

Stories from Wem, stories from Shropshire, stories from England and Wales and stories from the whole world - old and new. Also, a range of diverse storytelling objects from many different countries of the world.

An educational website free at the point of use, featuring stories from near and far with linked educational activities.
The website features areas for KS2, KS1 and early years, parents, teachers, and French Speakers. It can be used by children and adults with learning difficulties easily because of its graphic navigation styling. It also features Karaoke to many folk tunes from around the world. Museum projects are documented so their praxis can be copied and adapted by other institutions.

Group Visit to Mythstories

A 2-hour visit to Mythstories museum. Your group (maximum size 35) will have sole use of the museum and be lead by two museum staff throughout. Each visit is shaped to your requirements, but they will all have plenty of stories and activities.

Cost: £110.00 plus vat


Meet the museum storytellers on a site in Shropshire or near to your school - a park, hillfort, wood, lake or a castle - for a storywalk, or for a series of stories and workshops that draw on the site and/or its history.
Maximum group size: 35. Duration: half-day or whole-day
