The Connect10 vote: Mr Smith's Letter Press heads to William Morris Gallery for Museums at Night

| 14 January 2014 | Updated: 30 January 2014

The Connect10 vote to see where Mr Smith's Letter Press Workshop appears for Museums at Night has been won by the William Morris Gallery

Kelvyn Smith aka Mr Smith and his Letter Press Workshop will be appearing at the William Morris Gallery, London over the weekend of Thursday May 15 - Saturday May 17.

The Walthamstow gallery is promising a dramatic performance of one of Morris’s socialist chants, perhaps ‘The March of the Workers’, sung by a musician emerging unannounced from one of the rooms in the house.

People will be encouraged to display the prints where they live, at work or out in the community and send photographs of them in situ, creating a virtual archive.

More on Mr Smith's Letterpress Workshop:

Mr Smith’s Letter Press Workshop is the brainchild of Kelvyn Laurence Smith. Chiefly concerned with all things typographic and with quality workmanship, his focus is on creating beautifully crafted contemporary printed matter using traditional wood and metal type.
For Museums at Night 2014, Mr Smith will be taking his extraordinary Letterpress Workshop on the road inviting the William Morris Gallery and their public to create a typographic archive of their own.
