The Victoria and Albert Museum will open popular exhibition Hats: An Anthology and selected galleries until midnight on Friday as part of Museums at Night 2009.
One of the UK's most influential designers, Jones' exhibition features pieces from an Egyptian mask dating back to 600BC through to 1950s Balenciaga and modern couture pieces, exploring the cultural and historic importance of millinary and the universal appeal of wearing hats.
Displayed in a magical box-hedged Baroque garden, the exhibition includes pieces worn by Ava Gardner and Audrey Hepburn as well as recent clients such as Dita von Teese and Madonna.
