Young Archaeologists' Club

The Young Archaeologists' Club logo

The Young Archaeologists' Club (YAC) provides a network of hands-on archaeology youth clubs for young people aged 8-16, which enable young people to take part in practical archaeology. YAC clubs get involved in all sorts of activities, including visiting and investigating archaeological sites and historic places, trying out traditional crafts, taking part in excavations, and lots more. Each YAC club is run by a team of volunteers; find out more about how we recruit volunteers and keep children in our clubs safe on the YAC website at

Our new interactive YAC website - - was launched in April 2015. It features a regularly updated blog packed with archaeological news, competitions, reviews, facts, and places to go. The website also includes hands-on archaeological activities to try at home or school, and the opportunity to ‘Ask the archaeologist’, with a different professional archaeologist featured each month.
