Victoria Baths is the most intact Edwardian Baths in Britain. It is an architectural gem, rich in stained glass, mosaic floors and decorative tiling.

Guided building tours are available, as well as a Shop and Tea Room. Special events are available throughout the season.

Opening hours

Victoria Baths is open as a heritage visitor attraction and arts venue from April to October each year, with additional events taking place outside these dates.

'Discover Victoria Bath's guided tours take place every Wednesday from April to October at 2pm.

Open Days normally take place on the second Sunday of each month from April to November. A range of guided tours are on offer, combined with special events - see website for details. The Tea Room and Shop are also usually open.

Group tours can be arranged midweek from April to October - check our Groups page for details.

Arts events take place periodically.

We hold an archive of material relating to the history of Victoria Baths, swimming in Manchester and some other historic pools. Some of this material is on display at our Open Days.

Ardwick Heritage Trail

Take a trip back in time and bring Manchester history to life on the Ardwick Heritage Trail. Long trail approx 1 hour 30 minutes, short trail 1 hour. Guided walks available in February 2009. Self guided walks using the printed version or podcast.

Scrub a dub dub

A school's hands on activity. They will use washday equipment to experience different ways of washing in Victorian times. This will show the impact on people's lives of wash houses and public baths.

Water Palace Quiz

A quiz available in paper based and online formats with questions designed to enable learners to discover more about the Baths whilst honing their word and number skills. THE ONLINE VERSION IS ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE EVERYWHERE - just go to and have a go. The questions are cross referenced to the adult literacy and numeracy core curricula ( Levels E2 to Level 2) You will also have some downloadable numeracy activity sheets and ideas on activities for your visit.
