One of Ryedale's finest attractions, Nunnington Hall nestles on the banks of the picturesque River Rye. With period rooms, major exhibitons, an organic walled garden, a full events programme, peacocks and ghosts, this honey-coloured Yorkshire family manor house offers something for everybody to enjoy. There is a tearoom inside the main Hall serving food and refreshments from 11am. The restaurant is very happy to cater for special dietary requirements - vegetarian and gluten free options are always available.

Period rooms displayed with a 1920's feel reflecting the donor family's period of occupation with layers of history then going back to Tudor and Stuart times before that. There are some nice examples of needlework and paintings, among a varied and interesting collection of contents. Paintings include a number of watercolours by Myles Birkett Foster. The Hall is also showing items that once belonged to the Graham family - former owners. This collection includes Jacobite memorabilia including items once owned and worn by Bonnie Prince Charlie.
In the attic rooms, visitors will discover the Carlisle Collection of Miniature Rooms, one of the world's finest collections of miniatures.
The Hall also hosts a changing programme fo temporary exhibitions by major artists and photographers. The 2007 programme include exhibitons by the musician and photographer Bryan Adams, the illustrator Ronald Searle and the photojounalist Tom Stoddart

Casting New Light on Nunnington Hall
See Nunnington in a new light throughout May as we light up some of the darkest corners of the house and illuminate parts of the collection with coloured lights. Some of our collections and the fabric of the building are very fragile and sensitive to natural light which contains damaging UV rays. Therefore, often we have consciously kept fragile pieces in dark corners and manage the amount of light in our historic showrooms. However, a sparkling solution may be at hand!
