Meet the Sword Master!

Join Sir Neil, Knaresborough Castle’s resident Sword Master, to learn the secrets of the medieval longsword and exactly how to use one! Sir Neil will also have a selection of historical arms and armour for you to discover down in the dungeon.

2.45 – 3.15pm sword school

Be a Nature Detective

There’s a whole lot of nature in the castle grounds! Follow our trails to discover more about the plants, trees and minibeasts here and then pick up a craft kit from the museum to create bug boxes and art inspired by the natural world.

Drop-in half-term activities for families, no need to book. Trails are included in your admissions ticket and there is an extra charge for craft activities: £3 per kit

Medieval Day with Escafeld Medieval Society

Entry to the grounds is free, and there will be a small charge for some activities. See the Castle, Sally port and Museum for £2 adults and concessions, £1 children.
