Sonia Lawson: Paintings, Passions and Alarms

  • 19 November 2015 — 7 February 2016 *on now

This ambitious show brings together paintings from the 1960’s to the present, presenting themes explored within Lawson’s work, from her early work which is bold and Expressionist in style, through to more personal themes in her later work. These include her homage to the Brontë family, inspired by a visit to Haworth Parsonage.

Sonia Lawson was elected to the Royal Academy of Arts in 1982 and remains the only Academician to come from the Yorkshire Dales.

Paintings, Passions and Alarms is at the Mercer Gallery from 14 November 2015 to 7 February 2016.
