The museum houses several significant collections; objects, photographs and documentary material relate to the development of Otley and District since the prehistoric period.
Our collections also include prehistoric stone tools and artefacts, an archaeological collection from the excavations of the Palace of the Archbishop of York at Otley, industrial artefacts and archives recording the history and development of the town's Victorian machine makers and centred on the invention of the Wharfedale Printing Machine, and a significant and comprehensive collection of building records showing the development and planning of the town during the 19th and 20th centuries.
We are an independent museum, managed and run by volunteers committed to conserving, recording and interpreting the museum's resources for the benefit of public education.
