Remains of 13th Century stone castle and the fine motte and bailey. The Visitors Centre has an education room which includes displays on the Castle's history and a shop with gifts and refreshments. An access bridge and steps enable visitors to reach the top of the motte and take in the wonderful views of the lower Calder Valley.

Castle Site: Everyday from dawn to dusk
Visitors Centre: Wed - Sun 11.00-15.00

There is free limited parking on site. The car park is open 09.30–19.30 in summer and till dusk in winter. Please check signs on the car park gates for further details.

Coaches are requested to drop off and park at nearby Pugney's Country Park. (To contact Pugney’s Country Park please phone 01924 302 360).

The Visitors Centre is closed every Monday and Tuesday.
