The Museum houses a small proportion of the Castleford collections, which include material from Roman Castleford, and locally made pottery and glass dating from the eighteenth century to the 1950s. There are many objects relating to the town's mining history including the photographs of local communities taken by Jack Hulme. The Castleford collections are included in the Museums and Arts Service's permanent collections.
