Remains of medieval Royal Castle, which was one of the most important fortresses in Britain. The Visitors Centre has an education room which includes displays on the Castle's history and a shop with gifts and refreshments. In the Magazine visitors can see where prisoners were kept during the Civil War in the seventeenth century and the graffiti they left behind.
