Experience life as it was over 100 years ago through the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of a recreated Victorian Town. Victorian characters will give you a fascinating insight into Victorian life as they go about their daily lives in their cottages, shops and places of work.

• Try some of our traditionally cooked fish and chips or delicious bread from the bakery
• Find out about curious remedies in the Victorian Pharmacy
• Admire the products on sale in the Grocers and the General Drapers and Outfitter
• Choose from a range of ‘old favourites’ in the sweetshop
• Have fun at the Victorian Fairground during the Summer season
• Take a look inside Victorian cottages and discover what life was like for a Victorian housewife
• Dress up in Victorian costume to have an unforgettable portrait taken at the photographers
• Meet the animals and enjoy a journey around the town on a horse and cart
• Witness traditional skills in action at the printers, candle makers and decorative plasterers
• Explore original industrial monuments such as the Hay Inclined Plane and Blast Furnaces.

The Ironbridge Gorge is on the River Severn, 5 miles (8km) south of Telford town centre in Shropshire. Take junction 4 or junction 6 off the M54. Follow brown and white signs to Ironbridge Gorge.

For Blists Hill Victorian Town follow signs for Blists Hill Museums.

The entire collection of this museum is a Designated Collection of national importance.

Celebrate Queen Victoria’s 81st birthday

25 — 27 May 2013

Join the residents of Blists Hill Victorian Town over the Whitsun bank holiday weekend of 25th - 27th May as they celebrate the 81st birthday of their much loved Queen Victoria with great style, pomp and pageantry. Each day will be a fitting tribute to the gracious lady and her long reign with an extravaganza of colour, music and street entertainment. The event is part of Blists Hill Victorian Town’s 40th Anniversary celebrations.

Victorian School Session (KS1-2)

Booking a school sesion gives your KS1-2 class the opportunity to be taught for half a day in an authentic Victorian school. Either
- teach your class yourself with our detailed support pack Easter - October or
- let an experienced member of our staff do the teaching October- April.
Your class will experience lessons in the 3Rs as well as an object lesson, writing on slate and drill. Costumes for all children and two members of staff are provided. Maximum 35 children Split groups possible Duration 2hrs
