Ghostly Gaslight

  • 31 October 2015

As dusk falls and the street lamps cast eerie shadows at every corner, weird apparitions will replace the friendly Victorians who are usually seen in the town’s shops, cottages and work places, and visitors are advised to listen out for things that go bump in the night!

Dress up in your most scary costume and come along to the Ghostly Gaslight Halloween event at Blists Hill Victorian Town when the streets, shops and houses will be transformed into eerie places filled with ghosts, ghouls and monsters. The buildings will be illuminated in spectacular style and fireworks and pyrotechnic effects will light the night sky.

One of Shropshire’s biggest Halloween events, Ghostly Gaslight will keep all ages guessing what spooky encounter they might meet next – will it be the wicked wizard casting spells, the local carpenter seeking victims to nail in his coffin, ghostly apparitions in the cottages’ windows or zombies looking for brains.

Amazing light and sound effects will change the town’s peaceful streets into shadowy walkways where ghostly characters lurk, while many of the historic monuments and buildings will be illuminated with vivid colours and frightening effects. A family firework show in front of the old Brick and Tile works and pyrotechnic displays around the town will also create dramatic scenes around the Town.
