The Museum displays the largest collection of British cars, cycles and motorcycles in the world and is designated as a collection of national importance. Visitors can explore over 150 years of unique history and there’s something different round every corner. Where else can you see the earliest British cars and cycles, Queen Mary’s State Limousine, a De Lorean ‘back from the future’ and two Land Speed record holders - all under one roof? But it's not just a place for the past – you can design your own car, feel what its like to break the sound barrier at 763 miles an hour, and even travel into the future. Every gallery is well presented with interactive displays ranging from simulators and computer games through to films, drawing sheets and soft-play building blocks.
With a world-renowned collection and dynamic displays the Museum is one of the major attractions in the West Midlands region.
The entire collection of this museum is a Designated Collection of national importance.

Displaying the most comprehensive collection of the products of the Midlands motor industry, this museum demonstrates the central role played by the road transport industries of Great Britain, and the City of Coventry in particular, in the industrial, economic, social and cultural development of the world. The museum's splendid collection of 200 cycles ranges from an 1818 Hobby Horse to the latest BMX.
Its superb motor vehicle collection incorporates the largest display of British Daimlers, 200 cars and commercial vehicles from 1896 to date, 90 motorcycles from 1920 to date, Thrust 2 and Thrust SSC the world land speed record cars, and commercial vehicles.
The museum's extensive archives, open by prior appointment, sustain the argument that the car has been the greatest instrument of social change of the past century.
