The Museum and Art Gallery is set in the beautiful Riversley Park and has three galleries which house regularly changing temporary and touring art exhibitions. We also have galleries devoted to permanent displays of local author George Eliot, local history and our fine art collection.

The Drawbridge Art Group

Drawbridge Art Group was formed in 1972 by six employees of the Central Electricity Generating Board. The group meets weekly and hold demonstrations, life and portrait classes, outdoor painting sessions and trips to galleries.
This exhibition includes watercolour and oil paintings featuring a variety of subjects. There is artwork for sale in this show.

Galaxy in the Gallery

Sci-Fi fans eat your heart out. Collector Craig Spivey shares with you his collection of vintage toys and memorabilia. Get an insight into how a collection like Craig’s develops and see for yourself some of the rare items that feature in this treasure trove. These are definitely the toys you’ve been looking for.

Ruth Watkins - Nuts: Bolts: Birds

  • 11 June — 7 August 2016 *on now

This show of delicately-made mechanical birds is sure to fascinate young and old alike. In this, her first solo exhibition, Ruth Watkins presents over a dozen tiny hand-made birds. Inspired by imaginative play, stories and childhood memories she has made these little creatures using pieces from construction sets. Come and share in Ruth’s fascination for automata.
