The JHB Archive - Jo Gane

  • 1 November — 14 December 2014

In 2012, the artist Jo Gane purchased the modernist former home of Julian Henry Beck (1914 - 2012), a Coventry based artist, photographer and engineer. In the process of moving in, she found she had inherited an archive of objects from his life. The images in this exhibition examine some of the things that had once populated Mr. Beck's home. For Jo, these items became more like archaeological finds than just junk, offering clues to the lifestyle and aspirations of a generation.
