Get Well The Victorian Way

  • 12 September 2015 11am-4pm

Ever wondered how the Victorians dealt with illness?
Septimus Ringwood, the celebrated medicine man of 1895, returns to reflect on a time before the National Health Service when anyone requiring medical treatment had to pay. Professor Ringwood would often be seen at markets and fairs selling quack medicines and also offering to pull teeth for a small fee!

Get hands on with some of the tools of his trade and listen to his remedies for most illnesses. Younger visitors can create their own Victorian doctor or patient finger puppet.
