The Herbert has extensive and wide ranging collections which are grouped under four broad headings:
• Visual Arts
• Social and Industrial History
• Archaeology
• Natural History

The museum collections contain hundreds of thousands of items ranging from tiny insects to large industrial machinery like a jacquard loom, and from everyday household objects to fine paintings by important artists.

First World War Family Day

  • 15 November 2014 10am-4pm

In collaboration with Coventry Transport Museum, the Herbert will be hosting a full day of activities for families that will encourage thinking and learning about the First World War.

From a life size trench to a real Maudslay lorry, costumed re-enactors, and art and craft activities there will be lots to experience and do.

Drop in, suitable for all ages. *A small charge may apply for some activities.
