The Guild of Wheelwrights

  • 11 October 2015 11am-4pm

An exhibition of the work of the Guild of Model Wheelwrights who create beautiful, intricate scale models of horse drawn vehicles. Their models include carriages, commercial vehicles, farm vehicles and many more. There will be over 40 hand-crafted models on display and the members of the Guild will be on hand to talk about their work.

A Bishop and his Books

  • 8 September 2015 11am-12:30pm

Christine Penney, the Hurd Librarian, will give an illustrated talk on Bishop Hurd, the Hurd Library and some of the wonderful books it holds. You will then be taken on a private tour of the Castle State Rooms and the Library.
Following this, guests will enjoy a tasty lunch in the Castle Kitchen Café and are then free to explore the Museum for the rest of the day.

Sat 12 & Sun 13 – A free family event at the County Museum – explore 1000 years of history, board the mobile museum bus, meet the Castle's Scullery Maid, get hands-on with our collections and learn more about how we care for our objects. The Hartlebury Castle Preservation Trust will also be opening some parts of the Castle not usually seen by the public.

Searching for the Green Man
