Atmospheric house and estate, vividly evoking its family and servants. Erddig is one of the most fascinating houses in Britain, not least because of the unusually close relationship that existed between the family of the house and their servants. The beautiful and extensive range of outbuildings includes kitchen, laundry, bakehouse, stables, sawmill, smithy and joiner’s shop, while the stunning state rooms display most of their original 18th- and 19th-century furniture and furnishings, including some exquisite Chinese wallpaper. The large walled garden has been restored to its 18th-century formal design and has a Victorian parterre and yew walk. It also contains the National Collection of Ivies. There is an extensive park with woodland walks. Horse-drawn carriage rides are available.

Guided Walks with Erddig's Rangers

Who better than the ranger team to help you discover all the special places that make up the Erddig estate?

From the Motte and Bailey castle to the famous Cup and Saucer, there's lots to discover. Short on time? Don't worry there's a short walk and long walk to suit everyone.

Dogs are welcome on leads and the ticket office team keep a well-stocked tin of treats and a bowl of water for them to enjoy afterwards.

GBW Autumn Colour Trail with the Ranger

Come Rain or Shine Matt our Ranger will be doing Guided Walks every Monday during Great British Walks around our beautiful Estate taking in the Colours of Autumn.

The short walks start at 13:00 and are 45 minutes long, 1 to 2km long. The long walk starts at 14:30 and is around 1 hour 30 minutes, 5 to 6km long.

Join Bev our Ranger for a stroll around the Erddig Estate with your little one, whether they are in a pushchair, or ready to run with their little legs the route will be ideal!

Come and meet other parents or grandparents in the Wrexham area and take part in the Great British Walks.

GBW Paws at Erddig

With the leaves showing there autumn colours, the soft rustling as they fall and the trees swaying slowly, what could be better than experiencing this with your four legged friend walking through the Erddig Estate.

Join our Community and Volunteering officer Laurel, who be will be leading a paws walks around the Erddig Estate to show you some of the best areas to take your dog.

Practical walking shoes are must, all the paths are hard standing but there might be a muddy patch or two.

GBW Afternoon Tea with the Head Gardener

Take a private tour through our 13.5 acres walled garden with our Head Gardener Glyn Smith. Originating from the early 1700s you'll find rare fruit trees, water features, a Victorian parterre and one of the longest Herbaceous borders in Britain, plus the National Ivy Collection!

24th Annual Apple Festival

  • 4 — 5 October 2014 11am-5pm

Apple Festival is back for its 24th Year. There is plenty on offer for everyone to enjoy, including cooking demonstrations, cider making, a cider bar, live music, storytelling and of course, plenty of apples!

Taking on board feedback from last year there will be NO parking on site this year however there will be a FREE Park and Ride service from Glyndwr University, Ysgol Clwyedog and a coach pick up point from Wrexham Town Centre.

Colours of Autumn Photography Course

This one day digital photography course will suit photographers of all ages and abilities.

The course will be run by Jean Napier who has been teaching photography for over 20 years and has had four photography books published featuring North Wales.

The course will consist of a talk, technical advice and tips in the morning followed by a photography walk through the wonderful grounds of Erddig estate with a chance for feedback afterwards about photographs taken.

GBW Nordic Walking Taster Session
