Set in a beautiful 90 acre park, Tredegar House is one of the best examples of a 17th century Charles II mansion in Britain. The earliest surviving part of the building dates back to the early 1500s. Visitors can discover what life was like for those who lived above and below stairs by touring the impressive state rooms and the intriguing servants’ quarters.

Opening hours

The Park and Woodland Walk are open all year from 9.00 to dusk.

The House is open from Easter to the end of September, with House tours available from Wed - Sun.

Tours take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, and run hourly from 11.00 until 16.00.

Other events run throughout the year, including Halloween, Christmas, Murder Mysteries, Spooky Tales tours, family history evenings and dance workshops.

Tredegar House - Butler and Housekeeper tour

Step back in time to 1895, where the Butler and Housekeeper, dressed in Victorian costume, take you on a tour of the House. Compare the rooms 'above' stairs and walk through the attics where the servnats used to sleep and 'below' stairs, explore the kitchen and sculleries.

A Traditional Easter at Tredegar House

5 April 2010

Celebrate the start of spring with a visit to Tredegar House. Take part in childrens activities throughout the day, including an Easyter Bonnet Parade held hourly from 12pm, so bring your own bonnet and win a proze for the best. Make an Easter card and take part in our Easter egg hunt.
