Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the Castle’s exciting past. Caldicot Castle’s impressive structure is surrounded by an idyllic 55 acre Country Park.
You will be able to travel through time and discover the home of Welsh castle life, from medieval times to the twentieth century.The castle was developed as a fortress by Royal hands in the Middle Ages and restored as aVictorian family home.The river Nedern winds its way through the park and the wildlife pond is home to a variety of wildfowl.

Mobility scooter available for public loan. There is an outdoor play area for children, with sturdy toys and soft play. Due to the nature of the castle people of limited mobility are likely to find it difficult to access towers. Our stores and collections are available to the public by prior appointment only. 55 acre country park. All parking is free. Free parking for up to 5 coaches (by appointment only).
The Cobb Collection includes furniture, fittings and other decorative objects which the family used to furnish the castle when it was their home (1880s to 1940s). This collection also includes costume with some fine 18th century clothing. Other collections relate to the Foudroyant, Nelson’s flagship, which the Cobbs rescued and restored. The castle also houses a small social history collection of local interest. Archaeological material includes Roman pottery, material from the castle site and artefacts and material from the waterlogged Bronze Age “Lake Site” in the Country Park.
