St George's Day, across the UK, April 23 2009
Think of St George and a dragon-fighting, damsel-in-distress-saving hero may come to mind. But apparently, only one in five of us know that St George's Day falls on April 23 each year, and a quarter don't even know he's England’s patron saint.

Museums, galleries and heritage sites around the country will be celebrating England's national day, including English Heritage, who have a fantastic line-up of St George-related events for your knight-mad pupils.
Their weekend of celebrations kick off at Wrest Park, which holds the biggest bash in the country.
The Royal Armouries in Leeds are having a Sword of Honour Jousting Tournament
