Show your class the Blitz in colour

Teaching World War Two? Now you can show your class rare colour film of WWII London during the Blitz courtesy of Westminster Archives.

The home of the film footage is the West End at War website from September 7 2010, celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Blitz.

The date marked the first night bombing began on London by the Germans, lasting 76 nights.

The footage of the resulting bomb damage was filmed in colour by AE Reneson Coucher OBE and has been loaned to the website by The St Marylebone Society. Westminster Archives will be bringing free learning resources to their website soon, so watch this space and we’ll keep you updated.
