Takeover Day 2010: where the kids are in charge

Takeover Day , Novemer 12, 2010, is a national event offering children and young people across the country the chance to work alongside adults and get involved in decision-making in a wide range of organisations including the cultural sector.

Museums and galleries are getting in on the act and over 50, including Eureka! The National Children's Museum in West Yorkshire and the Corinium Museum in Gloucestershire, are involved this year.

Children are taking charge for the day and gaining valuable work experience as curators, press officers, event programmers and more. It's also a great way for the venues to get feedback and to develop partnerships with children, young people, their families and the local community.

We also got through Year 10 pupil Rhiannon Smith's press release on the pupils from St Lawrence's Primary School, Lechlade, and their day as curators at the Corinium Museum - and it's published on Show Me.
