Both Hinduism and Diwali are included in the V&A online collection.
There are some lovely images for you in the V&A’s online collection. For example the Diwali picture, A princess and ladies celebrating Diwali in a palace courtyard, c. 1760, Lucknow by Hunhar, is great for assembly use.
Or how about A devotee performing puja, c.1520-40, possibly Mewar?
We also like the image of Rama and Sita – a useful resource if you’re studying their story with your class.
The British Library
The Sacred Texts interactive on the British Library website has the story of Rama and Sita as well as Nachiketa and Yama. These are perfect for interactive whiteboard use and we like the inclusion of subtitles and background info and questions.
