As part of the celebrations to commemorate 250 years since Handel's death, the Foundling Museum is putting on a free evening lecture recital on June 12 2009.

The lecture recital, by Dr Barbara Diana with Bridget Cunningham (harpsichord), will be on Margherita Durastanti, Handel's soprano.

Handel composed especially for Durastanti for over a quarter of a century from their first meeting in Rome in 1707 to her last appearances on the London operatic stage in 1734.

Runs 7pm - 8.30pm (doors 6.30pm). Admission free, booking required, call 020 7841 3600.
