The Royal Photographic Society was founded in 1853 ‘to promote the Art and Science of Photography’, a mission it continues to this day in the United Kingdom and through its considerable overseas membership.
The Royal Photographic Society is responsible for staging three major touring photographic exhibitions. The Society also supports International Exhibitions through Patronage and Medals.
The International Print Exhibition and The International Projected Image Exhibition are both held annually and The Society's Members' Exhibition is held every two years.
There is also an exhibition of members' work shown each month at Fenton House, the HQ of The Society in Bath, UK.
The Society holds over 300 events, lectures, workshops and course throughout the UK.
