The Museum is located on the ground floor of the town's 18th century Guildhall, which was completed in 1743 and is situated on the town square.
Discover the true spirit of the characters from South Molton's past, through the exhibits and interactive displays.
The Museum is managed by the South Molton Town Council it emplyes two part time staff and works with approximatley 30 volunteers, we engage with the local community to show the social history of their town and its evolvement through the centuries.
The collections reflect the life and times of the town and the surrounding countryside. Local trades, agriculture and domestic history are also strongly featured.
Service point available and by appointment someone will help you research family and local history.
Veiwing can be arranged for groups and schools by appoinment out side of normal opening hours
Regular history and folklore related story telling sessions and hands-on collections are favourites with children of all ages.
