This unique collection of over 70 helicopters and autogyros forms the world’s largest dedicated rotorcraft museum and the only one in the United Kingdom. Full-size aircraft are backed up by displays on the history and development of the helicopter.
Helicopters in the collection include two of the Queens Flight, Russian Hind Attack helicopter, and World Speed Record holder.
All exhibits are undercover and there are talking boxes to accompany some of the helicopters.
Throughout the year there are Open Cockpit days and Helicopter Experience Flights. Free, guided tours are available for groups. There is a helicopter themed children’s outdoor play area.
Film theatre on site.
Classroom available for school bookings.
Function room available for conferences and parties.

'Back To The Blitz' for 'Museums At Night'
On the evening of Saturday 15th May 2010 The Helicopter Museum will go BACK TO THE BLITZ for Museums at Night 2010.
As air raid sirens sound and giant searchlights illuminate the exhibition hangar over 50 flight simulators will link up to recreate a gigantic air battle over the bombed ruins of London. Also look out for members of The Home Guard and shot down German pilots around the museum!
The Museum NAAFI Café will be serving mugs of tea, hot stew and authentic period home made cakes throughout the evening.

Flight Simulator Convention 2010
50 flight simulators will be demonstrating the controls and manoeuvrability of a myriad aircraft including helicopters, fighter jets and passenger airliners. The main attraction will be the incredible head to head ‘Spitfire vs Messershmidt’ dogfight simulator. Climb into a reconstructed cockpit of the two aircraft and engage in a simulated dogfight over a London skyline using the very latest in flight sim technology.
Also there will be real helicopters landing and taking off from the museums helipad , flights around the Weston Coastline and non stop big screen action courtesy of The Virtual RAF Battle of Britain Flypasts.

BAC100 Hangar Dance with 'Swing Fever'
The Helicopter Museum is hosting a special one night only Hangar Dance on the evening of September 18th. Doors will open at 7.30pm and guests will be able to dance the evening away to the swinging sounds of the 1940’s and 1950’s in an authentic aviation hangar surrounded by real historic aircraft.
Performing live will be ‘Swing Fever’, a jazz and swing band who have performed all around the world including Ned Kelly’s famous jazz club in Hong Kong and for Her Majesty The Queen in 2007.
Smart dress is requested with period / aviation attire optional.
