The Soldiers of Gloucestershire is a small military museum, which tells the story of the Gloucestershire Regiment and the Royal Gloucestershire Hussars over the last three hundred years. Located in Gloucester Docks, galleries are on two floors of the old Custom house, which is listed grade two. The museum is registered and access is easy.

Summer (1st March - 16th November) open daily 10am-5pm.
Winter (17th November - 28th February) Tuesday - Saturday: 10am -5pm.
Last entry is at 4pm

Getting there

By Road:
Follow the brown signs to the Historic Docks. The Docks Car Park which is “pay and display” is entered from the A38 Southgate Street/Bristol Road. Once parked, you will see the Custom House to the right of the yacht basin. The building has three flag poles on the parapet.

By Bus & Train:
10 minutes walk from Gloucester bus and rail stations.

The museum holds two collections - The Gloucestershire Regiment collection and the Royal Gloucestershire Hussars collection. These comprise military artifacts, paintings, textiles, medals and images that relect the history of the regiments and those who served in them.
