The museum and art gallery dedicated to art inspired by nature from around the world. The collection spans 1500 years, from 60 countries by 600 artists and craftspeople. From traditional painting to contemporary sculpture and abstracts, ethnic art and oriental treasures, there's something for everyone all housed in a fine Georgian mansion dating from around 1750. There's a coffee shop, gift shop and sculpture garden with a children's play area, free parking and disabled access.

Dare to Dabble

Ever fancied yourself as a starving artist? Well here’s your chance to Dare to Dabble!
Designed completely around the absolute beginner, or those who just fancy a dabble, these sessions provide an opportunity to try out new art techniques and mediums.
Inspiration, materials, guidance and fun are all provided, and as all tasks should, we’ll begin with a brew!

All sessions begin with a brew in the Education Centre at 10.30am and run until 1.00pm.

Illustrated talk by glass artist Amanda Lawrence

The main event of the evening will be an informative illustrated talk by Gloucestershire glass artist Amanda Lawrence.

Talk title: Slad Valley Under the Skin

Glass artist Amanda Lawrence set out to get ‘under the skin’ of Gloucestershire's Slad Valley, exploring it over two years with camera, sketchbook and sound recorder. She will be talking about the project and showing some of the collection of engraved and kiln formed glass it has inspired.


This will be accompanied by a finger buffet beforehand and a more practical hands-on session relating to the glass work of Amanda Lawrence.

Hare in field

Family Fun Day - Marvellous Mammals

  • 31 May 2014 10am-5pm

On Saturday 31st May, the theme for the day is Marvellous Mammals, so all things furry and four-legged. Cost of entry includes: Mammal Handling from 10-5pm courtesy of edZOOcation, where there will be a variety of unusual and exotic mammals to get up close to. There will also be a short talk about the mammals at 2pm. There is also a Make a Home for a Hedgehog Family Activity, drop in sessions from 10.30-12.30pm and 2.30-4.30pm. Other activities on the day also include a free Animal Habitat Hunt to complete, a Woodland Finger Puppet to colour upon arrival and a Design a Mammal Competition. The days events will also be accompanied by a special mammals exhibition courtesy of The Wildlife Art Society International (TWASI) located on the front lawn.
A fun packed day for all the family not to be missed!

Craft stall displays in gallery at Nature in Art

Annual Gift and Craft Fair

  • 1 — 2 November 2014 10am-5pm

Nature in Art’s annual Gift and Craft Fair returns this autumn for more family fun and the chance to buy early Christmas presents at an array of stalls.

Offering more than 30 stalls overflowing with handcrafted wares direct from the makers, visitors can browse beautiful stained glass; there is set to be a selection of woodturning crafts on offer; not to mention sparkling jewels; leatherwork; ceramics and an array of textile wares.

This year will feature many new and unseen stalls so definately worth a visit!

School Workshops

School visits available with a range of workshops to choose from. Schools take part in three activities - a museum visit plus two practical activities. With activities ranging from painting to batik and pond dipping to net sweeping there are plenty of activities to suit your chosen topic. (Maximum size 90 children, usual day 10.00 - 2.30, £4 per child adults free)
