Tiverton Museum is a vibrant, award-winning and much loved museum that provides extensive displays on local history. It runs a lively events programme, including temporary exhibitions (on anything from the history of underwear to local farming memories), guided walks, talks, holiday craft activities, themed days and lots more. The museum is proud to be family friendly and has won several awards in the last couple of years, including the GOLD Small Visitor Attraction, Visit Devon Awards 2013 and the Bronze Small Visitor Attraction at the South West Tourism Awards 2013/14.

Mid Devon at War; the Home Front in the First War

Our summer temporary exhibition ‘Mid Devon at War; the Home Front in the First World War’ opens on Friday 6th June and runs until 9th September. Entry is just £1 adults, accompanying children are free.

The exhibition features photographs and objects showing what life was like for the people in Mid Devon during World War One.


£1 for adults, accompanying kids go free. Admission also part of general museum admission ticket (£4.50 adults, £3.50 concessions).

Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life is an award winning, family friendly local museum that explores the history of Tiverton and Mid Devon. Explore our large collections
including the popular ‘Tivvy Bumper’ GWR steam engine, farm carts and waggons and lots more! There is a lively temporary exhibition and events programme.

The museum usually charges an admission fee but will be FREE on Saurday and Sunday.
