A Country Park and open air industrial musuem with an interactive gallery, hand ons activities for children and trails. The museum is an ancient scheduled monument with working water wheels and machinery. The museum shows how china clay has shaped local communities and the world we know today. Follow the trails to learn more about the industry and its impact on the natural world. Check out the modern working pit view platform.

Autumn Opening: every day 10.00 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Winter/Spring Opening: January to May : Wednesday to Sunday from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

Last admission is one hour prior to closing time.

Teaching resources cd

A new cd of resources covering 6 units is now avaialble for £10. Subjects covered are: KS2 Science China Clay Habitats, KS2 Science On the Rocks, KS2 History Heritage of Clay, KS1 History Cookworthy (famous person). Also included are literacy and art units. Cd covers everything from programs of work to printable worksheets and top tips to take the hassle out of life for the busy teacher.
Loans boxs and handling items are available.
Group sizes are max 30 per session, but please talk to staff about your needs and staff will talior visits to your needs
