Accessibility: we do not have wheelchair access to the upper floors - only the ground floor.

As well as visits by schools to the museum our education team will also, by arrangement, visit a school.

TEIGNMOUTH AND SHALDON REMEMBER 1915

Discover what happened when men were being killed due to the acute shortage of shells and ammunition . 1915 saw the disasters in the Dardanelle Straits and during the Gallipoli Landings
read about the 'Teignmouth Boys at Suvla Baya'.

Follow the men at the Western Front in the excerpts from war diaries. , Find out if your relative was mentioned in the various lists from this period. Read the story of Teignmouth's VC which was awarded to John Smyth for his action on 18 May 1915.

Ammunition was very scarce in this year, but the museum has some interesting examples of shells and fuses kindly lent for the exhibition. Why not come along and study the timeline and have a look at the uniform of the Royal Regiment of Artillery which will be displayed in the foyer. Learn more about the role of the Royal Artillery and its three main bodies - Royal Field Artillery, Royal Horse Artillery and Royal Garrison Artillery.
