The collections are housed on two floors in a Grade 1 listed Victorian building with stained glass windows and fine plasterwork ceiling on the first floor. Art and temporary exhibition galleries were added in the 1960s, and a large HLF grant in 2011 has allowed complete refurbishment to the ground floor.
The Museum is fully registered with the Museums & Galleries Commission and is a Quality Assured Visitor Attraction.
