There are over 25,000 objects from six centuries in Manchester Art Gallery’s collection. To make it easier for you, staff and visitors have put together a webpage of their favourites. You can view the Levantine Chess Set by Stephen Dixon – it shows the conflict between Eastern and Western forces and includes Palestine, Israel and Iraq. There is a painting by Alexander von Wagner on a dangerous Roman scene, The Chariot Race. The items range from an evening dress by Vivienne Westwood to an Asian ivory-carved elephant. The interactive tour invites you to add your own interpretations and thoughts to the objects.
