A joint partnership between the National Trust, Historic Houses Association, Royal Horticultural Society and the Association of Gardens Trusts, the Opening all the Gates scheme will run free regional seminars across the country between October 2010 and January 2011, aiming to explore the benefits gardens can give communities and how the public can support them.
The English Heritage-backed campaign will build on evidence showing that gardens play a vital role in the wellbeing of the nation. They will offer expert tips on working with schools and local groups, ideas on how to engage garden managers and owners and insights into best practice in the heritage sector.
Admission is free but advance booking is required as places are limited. For details email Jane Satchwell or call 01793 818531.
For more information on the project, email Adam Clarke or call 07834 537569.
