Heritage Open Days 2014: Clandon Park

  • 14 September 2014

Clandon Park is a beautiful Grade I listed building and the country’s most complete example of a Palladian Mansion, with lavish interiors, plasterwork and a stunning two storey white marble hall with sculpted ceiling. It is set in a peaceful formal garden, which is home to Hinemihi, the only Maori meeting house in the UK. This year visitors will be able to discover Clandon Park’s role as one of the busiest auxiliary home hospitals in the newly opened First World War centenary space.

Collections on view:
Family memorabilia
Gubbay Collection of 17th and 18th century furniture and porcelain
Ivo Forde Meissen Collection of Italian comedy figures
Lady Swathling Meissen Collection.
Free entry to house and gardens.
