Nestled in the Surrey Hills, Polesden offers the perfect opportunity to unwind. Mrs Greville, an ambitious Edwardian hostess, chose it as the ideal place for entertaining and relaxing with friends. And this is what we invite you to do with us, 100 years on.

The gardens offer something for every season, and to help you enjoy the countryside, we have geocaching and waymarked walks. The house with its rich colleciton of art and stories provides a fascinating insight into the Edwardian era and is open daily from the beginning of March until the end of Octboer or for events at other times of the year.

The popular restaurant and coffee shop serve a variety of fresh, homemade food including cakes and other treats. Our shop, one of the largest in the National Trust, sells a wide range of gifts, home accessories and more.

Easter Weekend Family Fun

Meet the amazing Polly Lou bird who only lives in the Polesden woods. Discover wild & wacky fantasy birds and match their nests as you search for the Polly Lou's missing eggs.

Children's activities including a sparkling egg trail, facepainting and storytelling (11.30am, 12.45, 2 and 3.15pm each day). Normal admission, plus £2.50 per trail. All other activities free.

Nordic Walking Beginner's Course

Nordic Walking is a weight bearing exercise using poles which give support to the back together with the hips, knee and ankle joints. It is sociable, fun and the rewards are immediate. An ideal exercise for any age and fitness level, Nordic Walking is 40% more effective than ordinary walking so why not enjoy this fun activity in the beautiful surroundings of Polesden Lacey.

Course consists of 2 sessions, and you must attend both sessions. The second session runs on 25th April from 10:00 - 11:30.

Polesden Plodders

Join our two volunteer leaders Kate Warren and Catherine Williams on a nice stroll around our countryside. It is for anyone and everyone capable of doing an hour and a half walk.

The walk is free of charge but any refreshments afterwards will be charged and the car park charge must be paid by non members.

Climb in the canopy of the big tree in Preserve Copse with the supervision of highly skilled and friendly instructors and get a bird's eye view of Polesden Lacey and beyond. If you're brave enough, take the zip wire back down!

Hourly from 10:30am - 4:30pm each day 1 hour sessions limited to 7 children per session. Suitable for children from age 6 yrs+ (no height restriction) Full tuition, safety equipment, harness etc., will be provided.

Free entry to Polesden grounds for participant (+ 1 accompanying adult if under 16).
