Heritage Open Days: Peckover House and Garden

  • 12 September 2015

Peckover House is a secret gem, an oasis hidden away in an urban environment.

A classic Georgian merchant's town house, it was lived in by the Peckover family for 150 years.

The Peckovers were staunch Quakers, which meant they had a simple lifestyle, yet at the same time they ran a successful private bank, the story of which can be seen in our banking exhibition.

The two acre garden is an outstanding sensory delight, with an Orangery, summerhouses, croquet lawn, and more than 60 varieties of rose.

Tea room and gift shop also on site.

Free admission for Saturday 12th September only.
