The Writing Lodge in the garden at Monk's House, East Sussex.

Country retreat of the novelist Virginia Woolf. This small weather-boarded house was the home of Leonard and Virginia Woolf until Leonard’s death in 1969. The rooms reflect the life and times of the literary circle in which they moved. The garden writing room where Virginia used to work now houses extracts from her diaries and a display of her photographs.

Mono-printing Workshop

Using the plants, foliage and statuary in the garden as inspiration, learn the art of mono-printing under the guidance of renowned printer Elizabeth Harbour. The course will take place in Rodmell Village Hall
will include light refreshments and exclusive access to the garden at Monk's House.

What to bring/wear: Please bring lunch - light refreshments and all materials are included. This workshop involves printing with inks. Please wear suitable clothing for this sort of activity.

Accessibility: Access to Monk's House is limited as there are steps down ino the property with no handrail. The grounds are partly accessible with some steps and uneven paths throughout.

Floral Photography Workshop: Spring Blossom

Join Caroline Arber, photographer for the book 'Virginia Woolf's Garden,' on a series of floral photography workshops. On this course, learn how to capture the garden in the light of spring with a focus on the beautiful seasonal spring blossom. A suitable workshop for any skill level, Caroline will be on hand to guide you on how to get the best out of your camera. The course will include light refreshments and exclusive access to the garden at Monk's House.

What to bring/wear: Please bring your camera with you, either a digital SLR or a compact wih manual functions. It would also be useful to bring a tripod if you have one and a laptop on which to view your pictures.
