Museums at Night Dinner at Bateman's
Enjoy a delicious two course dinner and perhaps a stroll around the garden in this Museums at Night event, before experiencing Bateman’s as night falls when the servants will be preparing the house ready for the Kipling family to retire for the night.
There is no disabled access to the first floor of the house. Dinner will be served at 19.00 and tours of the house will start at 20.30.

World War 1 weekend
Experience life on the Western Front in the largest WWI living history weekend in the country.
There will be re-enactments throughout the day, an encampment with ammunition store, field ambulance, aeroplane, mess tent etc. Children can have a go at making a cap badge or dog tag, as well as dressing up and paint balling (separate charges apply for children's activities)

Just So Story and Puppet Day
Rudyard Kipling's young daughter Josephine's probing questions about the world were the inspiration for the Just So Stories. Have a fun day celebrating the book and making puppets to tell your own stories. Try writing your stories around the garden in your own 'Just So' notebooks or listen to the stories retold by our storyteller. Make a poster on our old printing press.
