Set high above the famous white cliffs, Dover Castle boasts a colourful and fascinating history. Re-live the turbulent war years as you discover the labyrinth of Secret Wartime Tunnels built deep within the cliffs. Walk through the rooms where Sir Admiral Ramsay planned the “miracle of Dunkirk” and tour the underground hospital as you follow the story of a wounded wartime pilot. Above ground, don’t miss the Admiralty Lookout, where you can learn about the techniques used to detect enemy ships and even try your hand at Morse code! Also take time to explore the atmospheric medieval underground tunnels, see one of Europe’s best-preserved Roman lighthouses and walk the extensive battlements.

George & the Dragon

Come and re-live the story of St George and the Dragon at Dover Castle. Soak up the sights, smells and sounds, crafts and cookery of life in a medieval village. Meet the surgeon bringing to life gruesome medieval health care and await your fate in the crime and punishment trials. Revel in the medieval music and be amazed at the mounted skill at arms. Don’t miss the highlight - St George valiantly doing battle with the dastardly dragon. Kids can try on armour and test their skills at dragon slaying. With story telling, circus skills workshops and jesters too, it's a memorable day out for all the family.

WWII Weekend

Dover Castle’s popular WWII Weekend is back with a bang! Soak up the atmosphere as the castle returns to the 1940's. Walk through military encampments and get up close to a full size replica Spitfire. Step inside Mr Smith’s bombed out shop and discover the austerity of the war years from the Ministry of Food. Experience the German field hospital. Keep up to date with news from the front with live news reels and book a visit to 1940s beauty parlour for a new look. Witness the display of firepower from both German and British Forces in the explosive live battle. With musicians performing wartime favourites and plenty of hands-on activities for children - it’s an action packed day to remember.
