Victorian Values Discovery Visit

Explore the life of a Victorian servant in a completely different way - meet Mrs Warwick, the formidable housekeeper to the Braybrooke family at Audley End House. Students will find out about life in the Service Wing and hear the tales of the servants who toiled there, before trying their hand at activities such as sheet-folding and vegetable preparation in the new purpose-built education room. Groups are encouraged to come dressed in Victorian costume. Servants' aprons are provided.
Duration: 1 1/2 hours
Key Stage: 1, 2, History
Book a free tour to follow the workshop and use it to compare the grand rooms of the masters with the stark accommodation for the servants.
